Elevator: 2011 Not Rated
Movies that start on an elevator usually end up having either really good characters or absolutely shitty ones. This movie started absolutely wonderful, smoothly even, as each character was introduced and you began to bond with them. Some of the characters seemed too familiar with each other but they were still believable. Some of the actors were good (Shirley Knight and John Getz) while other actors were awful (Anita Briem, Amanda and Rachel Pace). The actors exaggerated their performance and made their characters seem more narcissistic. The movie seemed unoriginal. The plot was predictable and you knew what was going to happen at every moment in time. The characters reactions were predictable and their reactions to things like different plot twists were foreseeable. Their phones seemed to last forever and never seem to die like in real life where it lasts ten minutes. The movie may have plot holes but overall the characters seemed to mesh together well. They ending was predictable but it's wrapped up in a neat little bow. The awful people get off while the nice people are trapped. This whole incident could have been prevented if not for one click of a button. "I don't want to die on an elevator."- Jane Redding Score: 5/10
